Today all you can see still standing of the Temple of Artemis is the large marble columns that used to hold up the temple. The ruins now sit within swamp lands that over time have taken over the area. The Temple is known as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and you get an idea of its majestic beauty from what remains in the sculptured columns capitals and shafts.
House Of Virgin Mary
Located on top of Bulbul Mountain the House of Virgin Mary is said to be the last place that she lived before her ascension into heaven. It is now a very important and popular place of pilgrimage for Catholics. Situated on top of the mountain it offers you wonderful views over the below lying area.
Isabey Mosque
The Isabey Mosque is a wonderful example of the Seljukian architecture. Its interior is carved and decorated beautifully and a masterpiece of its time. There is an inscription to God that decorates the main doorway.
