Sissinghurst Castle, Leeds Castle or Bodiam Castle may be visited during the tour, however please note that entrance fees are not included in the tour price.Other English counties may boast of more castles than Kent but this county does possess an abundance of castles in varying states of repair.
This delightful circular ride can include such variety as a 170ft (51.8m) tower folly to the Norman Castle defending the River Medway. Traffic free lanes take cyclists to a 14th century manor house which although not strictly a castle is a fine place of history and architecture. Hever Castle, home of the Bullens' family (or Boleyn's) is a glorious place to visit with 125 acres dating back to 1270.
Nearby you visit a beautiful example of a Tudor Village, a favourite for movie makers and a castle rebuilt back in 1700.
Depending on the time of year you may stop in one of the castle cafes or you can organize a picnic in the castle grounds or along the river Medway.
If you choose a self-guided tour instead, your guides can also give advice on where to go, where to eat as well as provide maps. There are also a number of local pubs where you can recharge your batteries.
Electric bikes are comfortable and reliable and come with a large battery range. If you have never used an electric bike before, you use it exactly the same way as a pedal bike. The difference is that when you pedal, the motor kicks in to assist you, which is great for hills. Alternatively you can switch the motor off and ride it like a conventional bike.
