Your day will start with start with complimentary hotel pickup you up between 9am and 11am. The tour will start the daywith a visit to the El Yunque Rainforest, the only tropical rain forest in the United States National Forest System and a must-do stop for all visitors of Puerto Rico! At El Yunque Rainforest you will have the opportunity to hike and explore through different zones of the rainforest, see a breathtaking 360 degree panoramic view of the rainforest and Atlantic Ocean and take a dip in a waterfall (optional). Along the way your guide will educate you on the natural history of the rainforest, the medicinal and toxic plants in the area, the geology and ecology of the rainforest as well as pre-Colombian history and island history. Spot native flora and fauna, many of which are not found anywhere else on the planet. You might even learn some survival tips!
After the hike, the group will stop for lunch at a famous local restaurant called Casa BoriCuba (additional cost) before heading to join a fully-guided nighttime Bioluminescent Bay kayak adventure into the mystical mangrove channels leading to “Laguna Grande.” There you will meet our glowing friends, the Pyrodinium Bahamense, microscopic planktons capable of producing natural light at the touch of your hand or paddle! Explore these amazing organisms up close, as you will be kayaking throw the mangrove forest on the way to Laguna Grande.
