Full day, small group, wine tour of the vineyards and wineries of the East Kentish Weald. Escape to the stunning Kentish countryside, where you can discover three of England's finest wine producers on this fantastic full-day wine tour.
Firstly, you will visit Gusbourne Estate. Originally dating back to 1410, Gusbourne debuted its first English sparkling wine vintages (of Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2006 and Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2006) in 2010. It has since established itself at the forefront of the English wine revolution. 2015 saw a record medal haul for Gusbourne, including two Gold Outstanding medals from the IWSC. You will visit the expansive Appledore vineyards and take a private tour of their state of the art winery, followed by tastings of some of their award winning-sparkling wines.
Following Gusbourne, a visit to Woodchurch offers a very different experience. A small, boutique establishment, tended by hand by the owner Graham Barbour, with stunning views across the Kent countryside. Woodchurch produced their first, award-winning, sparkling wines in 2015. You will be some of the first people to hear their story and taste their fabulous wines. Spread the word!
Following a two-course lunch at a country pub, your final stop of the day is Oxney Organic Estate, which runs along the river valley, straddling the Kent and East Sussex borders. Another newcomer to this exciting emerging wine region, Oxney produced their first wines in 2014. Here you will learn about the workings of an organic vineyard from the owner, Kristin Syltevik, as well as visit the boutique winery, situatued in a picturesque converted oast house - an icon of the countryside in this region.
