This fun and exciting tour kick starts at the busy hub of the city of Durban and winds it up to the scenic and beautiful Valley of a 1000 Hills.Durban City also known as "EThekwini" is the largest city in South Africa. Well known for being the busiest port in South Africa and famous for tourism because of its warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches. On this detailed tour of Durban you will get to see and experience the following attractions:
Victoria Street Market which is a must do for everyone and anyone who wants to experience Durban's rich and diverse culture. With fantastic bargains at more than 170 stalls. A tour of the old apartheid museum and a city centre walk as Durban's historical town is not very bug and can be explored on foot. Then you will visit the Grey Street Mosque which is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
Visit the KwaMuhle Apartheid Museum, home to the historical records of the different and many culture groups that played a part in shaping Durban into the city that it now is today (despite restrictions imposed by the apartheid government). The tour will the move on to the Durban Botanical Gardens which are situated in the city of Durban, they are the oldest public institution and Africa's oldest surviving botanical gardens. You will then visit the Umgeni Hindu Temple is the oldest temple complex in South Africa. The three temples here reflect the three main forms of Hinduism. You will also get to see the University of KwaZulu Natal on your tour.
Once done exploring the city of Durban head off to Phezulu Cultural Village which is based on the rolling hills of KwaZulu Natal in the Valley of a 1000 Hills. Here you will get a chance to experience the famous Zulu Culture and see first hand a bit of Zulu dancing. You will be fascinated by meeting a local sangoma (traditional African healer).
