Your Dubrovnik shore excursion starts as you leave the port and walk to the cable car station, where your panoramic ride begins. From the top of Mount Srd, you'll have a spectacular view over Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian area. If it's a clear day, you can see up to 37 miles (60 km) – you’ll have great photo opportunities!
When you come back down, you’ll go on a walking tour through Old Town, where your local guide will show you the city’s finest sights. Stroll around the narrow streets and soak up the history and culture of this magnificent walled city. The tour starts at the Pile Gate, where you'll see the circular Onofrio's Fountain, connected by aqueduct to a spring 7.5 miles (12 km) from town. Then see the Franciscan Monastery, containing a restored sculpture of the Pieta and a gorgeous cloister dating back to the 14th century.
Continue walking to Sponza Palace, a Renaissance palace that now houses the State Archives. Other highlights on this tour include Orlando’s Column, the City Bell Tower, the Rector’s Palace and the Church of St Blaise, the city’s patron saint. Continue across the main square, where you will visit Dubrovnik's Cathedral of the Assumption, a Baroque church built in the 18th century after an earthquake destroyed the original one.
