Take a city walking tour around Dublin with a local guide to make sure you don’t miss Dublin's most popular icons. See the General Post Office, walk down O’Connell Street, visit Temple Bar, explore Trinity College and more! Your local guide will tell you about Dublin’s long and fascinating history and entertain you with interesting facts about the important sights you’ll see.Your Dublin walking tour starts on Dublin’s main street, O’Connell Street, one of the widest streets in Europe. Here you will see the General Post Office, a place of symbolic importance for Irish people, as it was the headquarters of the Irish provisional government during the 1916 rebellion, which led to Irish independence!

Then follow your guide through the Henry Street shopping district toward St Mary’s Church, a former Church of Ireland that is now a bar and restaurant simply called The Church. It’s one of the earliest examples of a galleried church in Dublin. It was built at the beginning of the 18th century and boasts many outstanding features, such as the Renatus Harris-built organ and spectacular stained-glass window.

Next, head to the Italian Quarter. This delightful shopping and eating district, also called Quarter Bloom, is located on the north side of the River Liffey. From the Viking beginnings of Dublin to today, the Liffey has been important for trade in Ireland.

From here, make your way to Temple Bar, the city’s promoted “cultural quarter” and nightlife spot that preserves its medieval street pattern, with many narrow cobbled streets.

Continue to see Dublin City Hall, an outstanding example of the Georgian architecture for which Dublin is world-renowned; Dublin Castle, with its 800-plus years of Irish history; and the former House of Parliament, the first purpose-built parliament house in the world.

Finally, arrive at Trinity College, founded just before the Tudor monarchy completed the task of extending its authority over the whole of Ireland. Trinity College is Ireland’s oldest university and one of the seven ancient universities of Britain.

Your tour ticket also includes discounts at the Abbey Theatre, The Church (a cafe and bar set inside the former St Mary’s Church), and Bewley’s – head to one of these popular Dublin cafes after your tour if you wish!
