Your entertaining and knowledgeable guide will show you the non-touristy and off-the-beaten-path side of Santa Cruz.Your tour starts at Laili restaurant, an Afghani and Mediterranean eatery that many believe is the best restaurant in Santa Cruz. You'll walk two blocks west to Buttercup Cakes where you'll sample organic cupcakes. The group will then make a big swing through the oldest part of the city and learn about the founding of Santa Cruz before heading back into downtown for an ice cream at the Penny Ice Creamery.
Then you'll walk to the west side of downtown and explore the three commonly-found forms of Victorian architecture in town. From there, you'll head to the main street in Santa Cruz for a tasting at Assembly Restaurant, a farm-to-table eatery. This is followed by sliders and microbrewed beer at Surf Rider cafe. The tour closes with an olive oil and vinegar tasting at the True Olive Connection.
