Raft the big rapids on the Kicking Horse River! Starting with calmer rapids on the gentle upper canyon, get to know your fellow rafters while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Kicking Horse Canyon. Then it's on to the thrill of the middle canyon with the Class 4 rapids of Portage and Shotgun.This is the most popular stretch of whitewater on the river. But if you think the fun ends there, you're mistaken! Raft the middle section of class 4 rapids twice. You can change spots in the boat and your guide takes a different line down the rapids, so the second time around is just as fun as the first. Your tour includes: all equipment (wetsuits, booties, lifejacket, spray jacket, helmet and paddle) and BBQ lunch (beef or veggie burger, potato salad, pasta salad, veggies, chocolate brownies, and lemonade)

Upon arriving at the river base at 1pm, check in and eat your delicious BBQ lunch. After your BBQ, your guides will provide a safety briefing before handing over all the equipment. Then get ready to hit the water! All groups will be assigned their guides for some fun photos before they hit the water. Once the dryland photos have been taken, it is time to raft!
You will become familiar with your guides' commands as they raft the upper section of the Kicking Horse. Then it's on to the thrill of the middle canyon with the Class 4 rapids of Portage and Shotgun. This is the most popular stretch of whitewater on the river. You will have the opportunity to do this most popular stretch twice!
At the end of the trip, there will be a bus to bring you back to the river base, where you can change, view the photos and head home after an awesome day of whitewater rafting! Change rooms, washrooms, warm showers, picnic tables and volleyball courts are all available at the private base.
Please note: There is no transportation available from Banff/Canmore/Lake Louise for this trip. All guests must meet at the river base for 1pm.
