Consider your list of dream jobs: doctor, astronaut, dolphin trainer? If you chose the last option, follow your bliss with this 7-hour interactive program at a Cancun dolphinarium. Go behind the scenes with expert trainers to learn what it's like to with these charismatic creatures. Participate in feeding and training sessions, take a dorsal-tow or foot-push ride, and observe all the action from underwater. Want more? A commemorative T-shirt and certificate, photos, lunch and access to nearby Wet ‘n Wild park are all included. You can even upgrade to include round-trip hotel transport. After morning hotel pickup (if option selected), travel to the dolphinarium in Cancun. Your experience begins with an engaging orientation on bottlenose dolphin behavior and biology, basic training methods, and the daily care routine for these social and intelligent creatures.

Follow your trainers into parts of the facility that most people don’t get to see such as the food prep area, training pool, and rooms that house marine life-support equipment.

Armed with behind-the-scenes knowledge, slip on a provided life jacket and get to work as one of the team. Assist trainers as they feed dolphins; you might even get a mini-show as the sleek stars twirl and splash in anticipation of their meal. You can even have some fun attempting to decipher the dolphins' distinct clicks and whistles as they communicate.

A lunch and open bar will be provided during the program. When your shift is over, enjoy the added bonus of getting some time to frolic with your new flippered friends. If you haven’t already, show some TLC with a shake of the fin, or a fleeting kiss and hug. Trainers are nearby the entire time to be sure that everyone feels comfortable with the interactions. If that doesn't send your heart aflutter, you're sure to get a thrill when you whip around a lagoon during a dorsal tow or foot push.

Afterward, your trainers lead you to a deep pool, where you’ll dive with scuba gear and capture the dolphins’ brilliant gracefulness from a different vantage point. Listen to more enchanting whistles, songs and clicks as the dolphins play, but this time from underwater.

At the end of the program, shower off in the changing room (towels and locker use provided). Leave the dolphinarium with great souvenirs, including a T-shirt, a ‘Trainer For a Day’ certificate and two photos of your day with the bottlenose creatures.

As you exit, you’ll hear human shrieks of delight coming from Wet ‘n Wild, a water amusement park next door. Spend your remaining time spiraling down its slippery slides or relax by floating on a calm river, before being transported back to your hotel (if option selected).

Please note: We are sensitive to the issues surrounding dolphinariums and recognize that this activity isn't suitable for everyone.
