Make your own way to the dolphin center, which is located at the InterContinental Resort and Spa. Check in at the office on the activities pier at least 30 minutes prior to your booking time. Expect to get wet during the dolphin encounter, so be sure to bring swimwear, sunscreen and a towel.
Your dolphin experience begins with a 15-minute educational talk about marine mammals including dolphins, whales and porpoises. Learn about their anatomy, habits and behaviors, as well as threats to these animals and efforts to protect them and their habitat.
Afterward, receive a safety briefing then hop in the water with a dolphin, accompanied the entire time by an expert trainer who shows you how to interact with these amazing and intelligent animals. Groups are limited to six people, allowing for a more customized experience with your guide and ample opportunity to interact with the dolphin during the 15 minutes that you spend in the water.
Choose from the following two options, offered at various times throughout the day:
Shallow Water Encounter (30 Minutes):
After the 15-minute educational program, step into shallow water with a dolphin. Your trainer shows you how to touch and play with the beautiful creature, making for an amazing experience. Children between 2 and 7 years old can participate when accompanied by an adult.
Swim with a Dolphin (30 Minutes):
Once you have learned about the dolphins in the educational program, head into deep water with your guide to watch one of the dolphins up close, even playing with the animal and observing it underwater. You can also swim alongside it.
