Starting on the Central Park of San Jose, the first thing we will see is The Cathedral and Melico Salazar Theater, we are enjoy a cup of coffee in Churrería Manolo’s this place is famous for its cream-filled churros (doughnut tubes).
After we have seen the capital’s main attractions, our first stop will be in the impressive Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and the beautiful National Theater where we will have a guided visit through these cultural gems. One museum of particular interest is the national Museum of pre-Columbian art. Transformed from an old military fort to show the country's peaceful tradition, this museum will give you an insight into the heritage of Costa Rica. It features a stunning gold, jade, stone and pottery collection. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity of visiting the Costa Rica Art Museum, Museo de Arte Costarricense that is situated in La Sabana Metropolitan Park, in the building of the former control tower of the old San Jose Airport. The exhibits have pieces from the XIX century to present time including drawings, engravings, paintings, sculptures, photographs and videos. The museum also features temporal exhibits, a garden of sculptures designed by the artist Jorge Jimenez de Heredia and the beautiful Salon Dorado (Golden Room) with an impressive mural representing Costa Rica history from pre-Columbian times to 1940; sculpted in 1940 by Luis Féron Parizot (1901-1998), a French sculptor and goldsmith.
