Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is a newly discovered attraction outside of Zhangjiajie National Park. It is situated in Sanguansi of Cili county, 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) east of Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site which is also a newly discovered scenic area. When approaching the entrance, you will see an expansive bamboo forest appears as well as drop-down valley with sharp cliffs and path cutting through the narrow crevice leads vertically to the bottom of the valley. The area covers approximately 37.3 square miles (60 square kilometers). Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon attracts tourists with its magnificence and rare beauty. It is also with culture significance as Wu Sangui, the ruling king of Ming dynasty, had several bloody battles with Li Zicheng, leader of a coop; therefore, it is also called "one thousand grave" of ancient battlefield.
