A day trip to the most beautiful cities of the Golden Ring of Russia – Vladimir and Suzdal. You will immerse yourself in mediaeval Russia and the countryside of the Russian provinces. On your trip you will see masterpieces of Russian architecture which are now protected as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.Vladimir and Suzdal are two of the most popular cities on the Golden Ring of Russia tourist route and it is no surprise why, as the historical centres of the these cities will take you back to Mediaeval Rus. Vladimir is believed to have been founded at the end of the 10th century. Famous figures from mediaeval Russian history are connected with the city, such as Andrey Bogolyubsky, Vladimir Monomakh, Vsevolod the Big Nest and Aleksandr Nevsky. Vladimir eventually become the capital of north-eastern Rus, with the grand prince of Vladimir becoming the most senior ruler in Rus, and these grand princes set about building white stone cathedrals and founded monasteries to decorate the new capital. Suzdal was also the capital of north-eastern Rus before the emergence of Vladimir, but today it is quiet Russian provincial town, albeit one like no other. Only in Suzdal have so many beautiful architectural monuments been preserved. In all there are 33 churches, five monasteries and 14 bell towers. For this reason the city is often described as an open-air museum.

  A morning transfer to the railway station in Moscow. It takes just under 2 hours to get to Vladimir from Moscow on this train. As soon as you arrive in Vladimir you will be met by your driver. An excursion around Vladimir with a professional guide awaits on which you will learn about the rich history of the city and its wonderful monuments of architecture.
  After the excursion in Vladimir you will head for Suzdal. Here you can try traditional Russian cuisine. Your guide will let you know the best restaurants in the city. After lunch you will have an excursion around Suzdal. You will visit the most beautiful cathedrals in the city and see masterpieces of Russian wooden architecture. After the excursion you will have free time to walk around the city by yourself and buy
souvenirs.
  In the evening you will have a transfer to the railway station in Vladimir to catch the high speed train back to Moscow. You will arrive in Moscow at 22:00 and be transferred to your hotel. The driver will wait for you next to your carriage.
