This is a full day sightseeing tour, starting from Bucharest, taking you to Peles Castle, then to the beautiful traditional mountain villages in Bran area. The tour ends in Piatra Craiului National Park, with a lovely walk in the gorges.
Peles Castle is one of the most famous attractions in Romania. It served as the royal residence of King Carol I, and it is one of the most beautiful castles in the world. Built between 1873 and 1914, the castle is a testimony of Neo-Renaissance architecture.
Romania benefits from a spectacular countryside so on this tour we will visit two of the most scenic Transylvanian villages in Bran area, Pestera and Magura. Later in the afternoon, after a delicious meal at a traditional guesthouse in the village, we will go to Zarnesti Gorges, in Piatra Craiului National Park. The area is a famous place for photographers, hikers and climbers.
Itinerary & program:
Bucharest - Sinaia (visit at Peles Castle) - Bran area - Pestera village (lunch at a private guesthouse; visit, if available, at a sheepfold; easy to medium hiking in the area for approx. 1 h) - drive through Magura village (with stops for photos) - Zarnesti Gorges (easy walking for approx. 30 - 40 min.).
