Probably the most relaxing way to spend a morning or afternoon in Trinidad, this tour allows for approximately 2.5-hours on the beautiful beach at Las Cuevas.

The drive will lead you through some residential areas in Port of Spain, before continuing up to the scenic North Coast Road where you can admire the stunning view of the Paramin Hills to the west with their plantations of herbs and spices, and thick rainforest to the east. Upon reaching the Caribbean Sea, you can admire the most spectacular panoramic views of the ocean. A stop at the Maracas Lookout gives you the opportunity for some photos of the surrounding bay and you can enjoy a local snack like pineapple chutney or sesame seed balls, at your own expense.

Continue along the beautiful coast passing busy Maracas Bay en route to the more sheltered, calmer Las Cuevas Bay. Enjoy the quiet waters of this 2.2km (1.36mi) beach, which is the only beach in the Southern English speaking Caribbean that has received a Blue Flag Award due to its purity and adherence to international standards.

This beach is surrounded by lush green, rainforest-covered mountains, with a sandy beach lined with small caves. Enjoy the unspoiled authentic Caribbean scenery, free of high-rise hotels and practically untouched by tourism. Due to its sheltered waters Las Cuevas beach is excellent for swimming, in contrast to the more busy Maracas Beach which usually have higher waves and more visitors.

There is a snack bar that offers simple fish n’ chips or chicken lunches. The fish comes from the fishing depot located on the eastern end of the beach where fresh fish is sold every day.
