Cachi, by far, is one of the most complete and beautiful excursions in the north of Argentina. If you are planning to travel soon to Salta you must do this trip. You´ll see various combinations of landscapes starting with subtropical jungle, different gorges, high altitude flora and fauna, along with incredible mountains. Don´t miss this magical trip to the beautiful town of Cachi.
The trip begins in the Lerma Valley through El Carril, continuing to Chicoana. You'll enter the Quebrada de los Laureles (The Laurel´s Gorge) and travel soon to the Quebrada de Escoipe (Escoipe Gorge). Afterwards, you'll arrive at the Maray entering Cuesta del Obispo (The Bishop´s Cliff) road with abundant curves, where it is possible to enjoy a panoramic view of the Enchanted Valley and other amazing landscapes. At Piedra del Molino (The Mill`s Stone), you'll reach 3.384 meters above the sea level, the highest spot in your trip. Soon, you'll cross Los Cardones National Park by the straight line of Tin-Tin (ancient Inca´s road). Arriving to Cachi, you'll be able to bask in the panoramic view of the Nevado de Cachi and Payogasta is observed. Afterwards, you'll go to the town of Cachi to visit the Archaeological Museum and the Church. At the end of the tour, you'll return to Salta through the same route with different stops along the road.
