Enjoy this day trip to Ben Tre - located in the The Mekong Delta ("Nine Dragon river delta”) - a region in the southwestern Vietnam where the Mekong River flows to the sea, and which is also called “rice basket” for its long green fields and countryside.Once you are picked up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh, you will head south, first to My Tho where you will board a boat to sail to Ben Tre. En-route you will see fish farms, floating fish market on the river and stop at the Phoenix islet to see how locals make coconut rice paper and souvenir handicrafts from coconut trunk and shell.
Once in Ben Tre, you will be introduced Mekong Delta´s speciality “keo dua” (coconut sweets). Apart from tasting, you will also see its production. You will also enjoy some honey green tea, a variety of exotic fruits, and exotic freshly-made rice paper.
Your lunch will then be served at a local house set amongst fruit orchards and bonsai trees.
Afterwards you will enjoy some leisure time, when you can just wander among fruit orchards and interact with people, cruise small canals of the delta and observe daily life on the waterways, while you can even join the farmer in fruit-picking. You will then get back to My Tho pier and then travel back to Ho Chi Minh City, where you will be dropped off late in the afternoon.
