Enjoy a day trip to Famagusta that is on the east coast of Cyprus. Famagusta has miles of golden sands and clear turquoise sea, alongside many historical sites of interest.You will be picked up from your hotel in Paphos at approximately 08.30am to start the 2 hour drive to the Famagusta region.
The first stop will be to visit Salamis, an ancient Greek city that sits at the mouth of the river Pedieos. You will learn about the history of the city before being taken to view Othello's tower, a medieval fortress dating back to the 14th century that guards both the harbor and the town of Famagusta.
You will then visit Ayios Nikolaos Cathedral and pass by the perimeter of the ‘ghost’ town of Varosia, which was once a thriving beach resort that hosted the rich and famous. The tour continues to Larnaka, the 3rd largest commercial and tourist city in Cyprus. You will stop at Palm Promenade well known as “Phinikoudes.” There you will have free time for lunch (not included), walk along seafront, or visit Larnaca Castle.
You will then be taken to visit the Church of Agios Lazaros before heading back to Paphos. On the way back you will pass by Salt Lake.
