Take this one day tour and explore of the largest and most fascinating cities in China, Chongqing. Visit its main tourist sites such as the People’s Auditorium, the People’s Square, and Eling Park. You even have time to pay a visit to the Ciqikou Porcelain Village and Hongya Dong.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel before bringing you to the Chongqing People’s Auditorium; built between 1951 and 1954. It is not only one of the major landmarks of Chongqing, but features an axially symmetric layout consisting of four buildings: the main auditorium, the east wing, south wing, and north wing. In total, it covers 25,000 square meters, and demonstrates the incredible contrasts between different styles of traditional Chinese palace architecture.

After that, your guide will bring you to Eling Park, the first private garden to be built in Chongqing. It was built during the late period of the Qing Dynasty, which ended in 1911, and was previously known as Liyuan, or Li Park. The park offers an incredible view of both the Jialing River and the Yangtze River, and provides a great spot to photograph Chongqing’s ever-growing skyline. According to legend, the owner of the garden wanted to cut through the cliff here, in order to connect the two rivers.

Make a brief stop for lunch, then head to Ciqikou to capture a bit of old Chongqing. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was famous for its production of porcelain. Today you can visit the tea bars, artists’ studios, and embroidery workshops to examine some of the local arts and crafts of the region. You’ll also be introduced to the unique folk opera.

Finally, visit Hongya Dong, where you’ll be able to see some of the sculptures in the traditional Bayu architectural style, and do some shopping as well. This is the perfect place to get souvenirs for yourself or friends and family from home. You’ll be able to walk here by yourself for a short while before you are transferred back to your hotel.
