This tour will take you to Chengdu Giant Panda Bear Research Center and Leshan Grand Buddha
Your tour begins at 7:20am where you will meet your guide at your hotel in downtown Chengdu. Your first stop will be to the Chengdu Giant Panda Bear Research Center.
Once at the Center, you'll see that they have two types of accommodations for the giant pandas. The first being the Captive Cages and the 2nd being the Semi-nature Enclosures. Most of the giant pandas in the Center stay individually in the captive cages, which are in fact very large enclosures, each consists of an indoor room and an outdoor courtyard.
You'll notice that the semi-nature enclosures are very large wild areas but are protected by border fences. The pandas you see in those enclosures will soon be released back to the wild. They are kept in the semi-nature enclosures for a long period of time giving them time to adapt to the natural environment. You'll learn that the giant pandas eat, sleep and recover their natural survival skills before they are released into the wild.
After your visit with the cool pandas, you'll enjoy a delicious meal at one of the local restaurants.
After lunch, you'll be driven to the Grand Buddha.
The Grand Buddha is a 230 feet (71 meters) tall sculpture carved into one of the large cliffs by the river. In addition to the Grand Buddha, there are also numerous smaller carvings of various Buddhas on the Grand Buddha Cliff Road. Other than carvings, there are also various temples and shrines scattered about, the beautiful Haoshang bridge, and some wonderful small waterfalls.
Your tour ends once you have been taken back to your hotel where you can enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure.
