Join this tour to discover a great city in Lebanon, the city of the Mirs; Beit L Din and Der l Qamar. Then walk in the Cedars reserve of Barouk before returning to your hotel. This tour is a mix between architecture and nature. Start your day with the Shouf's most noteworthy attraction, Beiteddine. A grandiose 19th-century palace built by Emir Bechir el-Chehab II, who ruled Mount Lebanon for over half a century. A stunning example of 19th century Lebanese architecture, Beiteddine was designed to blend into its natural surroundings. Then head to the Barouk Cedar Forest, a beautiful and natural reserve. It is one of the most protected and well-preserved forests in Lebanon.
On your way back, pass by Deir el Qamar, a Lebanese town known as the Capital of Emirs. From its palaces, Lebanon was governed from the 16th to the 18th century. Particularly well-maintained, Deir al Qamar is a town with cobblestone streets, walled gardens, and picturesque isolated corners. The former capital of Mount Lebanon presents a splendid architectural heritage that effortlessly blends traditional Arab building styles with Western elements.
Last stop is Bourj Hammoud. Walking down the main promenade, you will be amused by the sights and smells of the famous basterma (pastrami) restaurants. Getting lost in the maze of streets, you will love the unique artisanal products. However, one thing is for sure: Bourj Hammoud will allow you to explore a scent of the Armenian culture.
