Start your tour with a pickup from your centrally located Paphos or Limassol hotel. Then, relax in your air-conditioned coach with your expert guide, and gaze out of the window as you travel through the countryside.
Your first stop is the Kourion Ancient Theatre. Built into a hill by the sea, this restored Greco-Roman amphitheater once sat 3,500 spectators. Hear about its history and see the Villa of Eustolios in the nearby ruins of Kourion Archaeological Site, where the relics of Roman villa with stunning floor mosaics still stand.
Next, visit Kolossi Castle, built by the Knights of St John in the 15th century. Explore the tower and view the surrounding vineyards from the roof as you hear how the area produced the sugarcane used in Commandaria, the sweet Cypriot wine that Richard the Lionheart dubbed the 'wine of kings.'
Sample some locally made olive bread in the village of Monagri before driving to Omodos, a pretty, wine village tucked in the foothills of the Troodos Mountains. Admire the cobbled main square and visit a winery to taste a selection of its fruity local wines.
After free time for lunch (own expense) in the village, head for your last stop, the Cyprus Wine Museum in Erimi. Enter this small, informative museum to trace the history of Cypriot wine through its displays of ancient jars, presses and other artifacts.
Afterward, return to your coach and travel back to Limassol and Paphos. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.
