This route starts near the CanĂ¡rio Woods in the western part of the island. We start by going along an aqueduct until you reach the Nine Windows Wall. We continue the dirt road lined with Japanese cedar trees. Shortly after, we go uphill until we reach the first viewpoint over the Sete Cidades Lakes at the hill Pico da Cruz. From here on, we follow the path that skirts the Blue Lake. Along the trail you will find many species of endemic plants like: 'Uva-da-Serra' (Vaccinium cylindraceum), Green Heather (Erica azorica) and Laurustinus (Viburnum tinus).
