Suggested itinerary:
The guide and driver will pick up your small group at 8.30 at your accommodation and start the drive towards Neretva river. On the way, be sure to enjoy in the lush Dalmatian landscape.
Stop briefly at Poljica, historically relevant as the seat of the famous Poljicka Republic, one of the oldest republics in the region. From Poljica, you will be able to see the stunning vista of Omiš and canyon of the Cetina river.
At about 11 am you will come to Opuzen and board the boat. For the next several hours, you will enjoy gliding down the many canals of the River Neretva, led by the local guides with plenty of experience and many, many stories to tell. Learn more about the history of these lands, and how the natives lived in the vicinity of the river. Even the boat we are on is a traditional boat used for centuries for floating down Neretva. The delta of the river Neretva is a famous ornithological site in Croatia, and you will encounter many magnificent birds and other wildlife.
After some boating, stop at a riverside clearing and have a very proper and traditional picnic, where you will be able to taste a wide array of local delicacies. Afterwards a group of local singers will cheer you up by singing old songs and show you some old dances and games.
End the trip by returning to Opuzen.
Your guide and driver will take you back to Split, any you will be at your accommodation about 5.00 p.m.
