Hop aboard your glass-bottom boat, where your skipper and guide shows you the amenities on board, including a restroom and an open bar of fruit juices, bottled water and beer. After a safety briefing, speed off to three fantastic snorkeling locations off Cozumel.
Sit back on your cushioned seat and relax as the boat heads to El Cielo, or ‘Heaven’ in Spanish. Slip on your gear and jump in! Spend about 20 to 25 minutes exploring the shallow and clear waters here, and discover gardens of sea stars on the white sandy sea floor.
Back on the boat, your skipper takes you to an excellent snorkeling location in the shallows of Columbia Reef. With visibility of nearly 200 feet (61 meters), delight in sighting sea turtles, communities of coral and a variety of fish, including barracuda, eagle rays and bar jacks.
After about 30 minutes at Columbia Reef, motor off to Palancar Reef, a star snorkeling attraction of Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park (Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Cozumel). As you drift-snorkel here for 30 minutes, your underwater tableau includes coral reef, turtles, rays, nurse sharks, moray eels, lobsters and a trove of tropical fish.
Your snorkeling forays complete, sail back to the pier. Enjoy access to its luxurious facilities; freshen up and then perhaps grab a bite to eat or drink (own expense). Or cap off the day with a final swim around Dzul-Ha Reef, steps away from the beach club.
