Hop in a self-drive buggy for a guided shore excursion on the island of Cozumel, and caravan to the Mayan town of El Cedral in your state-of-the-art vehicle. Take in the gorgeous scenery and snorkel with your guide in the pristine waters of Chankanaab Reef before a stop at the church and Mayan ruins. You’ll be welcomed into the home of a local family for a traditional snack and then dine on a delicious lunch at Hotel Cozumel and Resort, including use of the resort’s huge pool. After your cruise ship docks at the Cozumel port, your guide will accompany you to the spectacular Chankanaab Reef, an accessible beachfront location at the edge of the crystalline Caribbean Sea. Follow your guide on a one-hour snorkeling tour in search of Cozumel’s vibrant marine life amid the natural wonders of this brilliant underwater world.
Next, take up to three fellow passengers on a brand new, state-of the art buggy – they’re one of a kind on the island of Cozumel! Enjoy a scenic drive, caravan-style, as you follow your guide to El Cedral, founded in the 1840s as Cozumel’s first town. Embark on a tour of the ancient Mayan ruins as well as the church of El Cedral and the original house of the town’s first settlers.
Then, enjoy a scrumptious snack in the home of a local Mayan family, and sample local ingredients prepared the traditional way. As you observe the contemporary lifestyle of these village residents, you’ll hear about their cultural traditions and festivities. Afterward, jump back into your last generation buggy and drive along Cozumel’s eastern coastline, stopping briefly at El Mirador or Playa San Martin for great photo opportunities with outstanding views.
When you arrive at Hotel Cozumel and Resort, feast on a delicious meal of assorted Mexican dishes such as chicken fajitas, homemade tortillas, fried tacos, sopes and Mexican salsa. Choose four ice-cold refreshments, including soft drinks and seasonal fruit beverages, to accompany your lunch.
Enjoy the beach lounge chairs, showers and changing rooms at the resort, as well as the largest freshwater pool on Cozumel (lockers, towels and a bar are also available at additional cost) before you return to the cruise port.

Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to the Cozumel port for your ship’s departure. In the extremely unlikely event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call.
