Come and visit this rural distillery in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside, where your expert guides will take you on a gin and whisky making journey. You will learn the craft of creating the distillery's fine spirits, whilst having the opportunity to see their bespoke distillation equipment in action before enjoying a tasting in a comfortable tasting room. Each tour ticket includes a tasting at the bar.The Cotswolds Distillery is the first-ever full scale craft distillery in one of England’s most beautiful and best-loved regions. Opened in the summer of 2014, they are now in full production of “Outstanding Natural Spirits” in a beautiful conservation area less than 2 hours’ drive from London.
The distillery focuses on single-malt whisky, distilled the traditional way in Scottish-made pot stills and using local Cotswolds barley. Their whisky will first be bottled in 2017; in the meantime the distillery are selling their Cotswolds Dry Gin which is made in small batches with local botanicals and has already received excellent reviews.
On your tour you will be led through the working distillery where you will learn about the art of traditional distillation in small batches. The tour covers both whisky and gin making. Following the tour you will retire to a comfortably-appointed tasting room where one of the experts will pour you several tastes of different spirits, including the soon-to-be released whisky.
There is a shop on the premises that offers all of their spirits, along with a great collection of glassware, clothing, books and other merchandise.
