Make your own way to central Barcelona to join your air-conditioned coach. Then, relax on the approx. 1.5-hour drive to the Costa Caribe Aquatic Park at PortAventura.
On arrival, show your entrance ticket and head inside. Then, get the rest of the day (around eight hours) to enjoy the park as you wish. One of Spain’s most exciting attractions, the Caribbean-themed park has everything from high-speed slides for adrenaline freaks to gentler chutes and pools, all set amid palm-dotted gardens and with reggae music wafting through the air.
Plunge down the 102-foot King Khajuna, Europe’s highest freefall slide, or grab a toboggan mat to beat your family and friends on the exhilarating Rapid Race. Then, hurtle down the 64-foot (19.4-meter), Tropical Cyclone or swoosh through the tunnels and turbulent waters of the Barracudas.
For something tamer, float along the The Mad River, hit the tropical Paradise Beach Pool, or relax on sandy Bahama Beach as the kids play on the colorful Pirate Ship, splash in the children’s pool, or jump through the water jets at Cayo Cookie.
When you want a breather, refuel at any of the restaurants and cafes or browse through the goodies at the Caribbean-themed shop.
