Offering a specialised small-group chartering service committed to the enjoyment of sailing a Contessa 32, for single day experiences, weekends, longer adventures or training. Including all safety equipment and onboard refreshments.
Based in the delightful sailing centre of Cowes, Isle of Wight, but can collect groups from anywhere within the Solent area by arrangement.Parties of up to 5 people come aboard for the experience of sailing a true classic yacht. Whether you’re looking for a fun day out, corporate team-building, a weekend of training, or a longer mile-building adventure we can accommodate your needs. You will be accompanied by a highly skilled and experienced skipper, whose involvement in the sailing can range from a back seat safety and advice role, to being fully in charge of the sailing while guests relax. All our skippers can provide sailing instruction for RYA qualifications if desired.
The over-riding priority is your safety and comfort. Modern production boats introduce well-publicised safety and sea-sickness concerns. By comparison, the Contessa 32, recognised as a classic design for more than 40 years, has an unmatched reputation for seaworthiness and possesses an easy motion at sea. Contessa 32s have completed innumerable ocean crossings, circumnavigations and polar voyages.
The service appeals to novice sailors, interested in experiencing the pleasure of sailing, yet anxious to do so under conditions of maximum safety, and who may be wary of seasickness. Equally, the service attracts many seasoned sailors, keen to experience first-hand sailing the legendary Contessa 32. We also offer sailing experience gift days, and corporate sailing days or weekends, including on-board sleeping accommodation. Groups interested in longer adventures, to France or the Channel Islands and back, or to the West Country and the Scillies, for example, are also welcomed. Many of the guests wish to build up their sailing miles, in preparation for RYA (Royal Yachting Association) qualifications such as Day Skipper and Yachtmaster. Sailing tuition for these qualifications, and for the ICC (International Certificate of Competence), can also be provided.
