Book your preferred tour time, and on the day, make your own way to Colònia Güell, situated in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, just south of Barcelona. Built in 1882, this purpose-built village was created by entrepreneur Eusebi Güell to accommodate workers at his textile mill. Composed of terraced houses, school, shops, gardens and co-operative buildings, Güell commissioned modernist architects to build the estate, including Antoni Gaudi to design its church, now known as the Gaudi Crypt.
