Day 1: Cusco City Tour
Upon arrival to Cusco, you'll be transferred to the hotel and you will have a free time to rest and avoid altitude sickness. In the afternoon, the tour will start visiting the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha), and continue visiting 4 archaeological remains including Sacsayhuaman. This enormous place was strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco and is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 meters (30 feet) tall and weighing over 350 tons, set together whit astounding precision to form the outer walls.
Day 2: Tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas
Today you will take a tour of the Sacred Valley, visiting the archaeological remain of Pisac and the colorful Andean market and church. After visiting Pisaq, on the way you will pass by places like Lamay and Calca, arriving to Urubamba town where the group will stop for lunch. After having lunch, you will continue with tour visiting Ollantaytambo town, where you will see its typical streets. Finally, you will visit the pictures Andean village of Chinchero where the built was on Tupac Inca Yupanqui Palace.
Day 3: Machu Picchu
Very early in the morning, you'll be picked up from the hotel to take the bus to the train station located in Ollantaytambo. You will take the tourist train to Aguas Calientes which is a 1.5-hour ride. During the journey you will see the Urubamba canyon, Urubamba River and the show capped peaks of the Veronica Mountain. Once you reach Aguas Calientes, you will be contacted by the guide to take the bus and climb the citadel of Machu Picchu which takes about 20 minutes. Then you will have a guiding visiting around this magical citadel and appreciate the Inca architecture. You will see the main plaza, the circular tower, the sacred sundial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the royal quarters and more. The time spent at Machu Picchu is 2.5 hours approximately. After the guided visit, you can go back to Aguas Calientes to take the train of back to Cusco.
Day 4: End of tour
You'll have breakfast at the hotel and be transferred to the airport.
