Follow one of the greatest and ancient trail of the Incas. Visit to Peru on this 4-Day Trek: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu tour. Enjoy the convenience of hotel pickup and drop-off, English-speaking guide, porter service and meals as indicated.Day 1: Inca Trail – Km 82 - Wayllabamba (L, D)
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 4:30am to take you to the starting point of the trail. You will register and meet your chef and porters who will accompany you on the trek. From Km. 82 (2700m, 8850ft) you will make your way to the Wayllabamba Campsite. The first two hours of the trek are lightly paced until you reach Miskay, a picnic area where your chef and porters will have lunch ready for the day. After lunch, you will have 3-4 hours (depending on pace) of a steady uphill climb. Total walking time 4:30 / 5:00 hours (12 km.)

Day 2: Wayllabamba - Pacaymayo (B, L, D)
Early in the morning you will be woken up with a hot coca tea, have breakfast then continue the trek. You will start from an altitude of 3000m/9850ft and climb for five hours to reach an altitude of 4200m/13800ft at Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass), where you will have a stunning panoramic view of the Andean mountains and their surroundings. After the toughest part on the Inca Trail, there is a one hour descent before reaching the picnic area where your chef and porters will have prepared a well earned lunch for you. At Pacaymayo you will enjoy a delicious dinner cooked by the native chef.

Day 3: Pacaymayo - Wiñay Wayna (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast you will continue trekking the Inca Trail passing by many archaeological sites. The first part of today’s trek will take you from Pacaymayo (3600m/11800ft) to the second pass, Runkuracay (3900m/12800ft). After reaching this pass, the rest of the day’s trek is mostly downhill, passing by Saqaymarca, an inaccessible old Inca town, before reaching a nice area for lunch. After lunch,continue the trek until reaching the Wiñay Wayna Campsite, where you will have the rest of the day to relax. Total walking hours 10:00 hours (15 km.)

Day 4: Wiñay Wayna to Machu Picchu (B)
After an early breakfast to prepare for the rest of the Inca Trail, you will go from Wiñay Wayna, Quechua for ”young forever”. After walking for about two hours, you will reach the Sun Gate, Inti Punku. You will have officially completed the Classic Inca Trail Adventure and finally will have arrived at Machu Picchu. Here you will be rewarded with a panoramic and breathtaking view of the "Lost City of the Incas".

You will then have a short walk to get to Machu Picchu before enjoying a guided tour of Machu Picchu to learn about the history of this truly fascinating and sacred Inca site. You can then enjoy some free time before going down to Aguas Calientes. The tour ends by taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, a bus back to Cusco, then a transfer back to your hotel.
