Board your bus from any of the 27 routed stops that are situated throughout the city. Find a spot inside or on the open-air top deck, then sit back and relax as you travel through the beautiful and historical city of Budapest.

With your 48-hour ticket, you can remain on the bus for the entire loop or you can hop on and off to explore the city’s sights. See the Itinerary for a list of the stops. As you travel, listen to the audio commentary to learn more about Budapest and its fascinating history, marked by centuries of rule by the Romans, Habsburgs and Ottomans.

Perhaps hop off at the Hungarian Parliament Building (Orszaghaz). One of Budapest's finest architectural achievements, this neo-Gothic masterpiece was once the world’s largest parliamentary building. Should you wish, head inside (own expense) to learn more about Hungary’s government and to see highlights such as the Session Room, Great Vaulted Hall and the grand central staircase.

Later, maybe stop by Budapest’s Castle District. Wander the medieval cobblestone streets of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed district and see showstopper sights such as Buda Castle (also called the Royal Palace and Royal Castle), Matthias Church and the fairy tale–like Fisherman’s Bastion.

Make use, too, of the complimentary tours included with your hop-on hop-off bus ticket. Explore the postcard-perfect Margaret Island on a 1-hour guided bike tour, or discover more about the city’s highlights on a walking tour.

Alternatively, upgrade to include a daytime or evening river cruise along the Danube River and see the Hungarian capital from an entirely new perspective.

The full red route loop lasts around two hours, while the purple route takes roughly an hour. Buses arrive every 15 minutes at each stop.
