Cacao has deep roots in the history of the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Now for the first time, gourmet beans used for making bar chocolate is being made in Puerto Viejo, Limon. After learning about the chocolate making process, you will visit Cahuita National Park.This 6-hour tour starts with pick up at the port at 8am. You will then learn about the chocolate making process and will see some of the gourmet cocoa that is being grown to make chocolate bars.
Once the chocolate experience is over, you will set off on a trek through the ruggedly unique landscape of Cahuita National Park. There, along the coast, you’ll find a fringe of white sand lined with endless coconut palms. A few steps away you will find the rich greens of the tropical rainforest waiting to be explored. This is one of the most unique ecosystems in Costa Rica and led by an expert naturalist, you’ll follow trails that put you in midst of its biodiversity.
