A fascinating day tour which combines conservation, education and botany. Visits include the Jane Goodall Institute Chimpanzee Eden and the Lowveld Botanical Gardens.
Depart from your hotel at around 08:00 and drive to the Jane Goodall Institute Chimpanzee Eden, situated about 15kms (9 miles) outside Nelspruit. You'll arrive in time to join the tour, which includes the feeding of the chimpanzees at 10:00.
This is a unique opportunity to view chimpanzees in semi-wild surroundings. Visitors will be captivated by these primates who share 98% of man’s DNA. With every visitor we take to the Sanctuary, we contribute to the rescue of another chimpanzee.
After the tour, you'll stop for lunch before traveling to the Lowveld Botanical Gardens in Nelspruit. Situated on the banks of the Crocodile and Nels Rivers, the 159 hectare (392 acres) garden is home to around 600 plant species. After a leisurely stroll through the gardens, you'll return to Hazyview, arriving at around 16:00.
