Start your day off in Lucca and hop on the shuttle that will take you to central Florence where you will meet your tour leader. You will be comfortably escorted through the amazing Chianti region, right in the heart of Tuscany. This part of land is characterized by the typical elements that make the Chianti region unique and that fill our imagination: a prefect blend of natural elements and presence of man, the gentle rolling hills and the contrast of colors, and of course, the cypresses. You will learn about the prestigious product of this land: Chianti wine. Known all over the world, this wine results from the blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and originates from the hilly area from which it draws its name.
You will visit a charming wine estate where you will take part in a guided tour of the wine cellars in order to gain insight into the various stages of wine production and in a tasting of the various wines that the winery produces, together with samples of sliced cured meats, bruschetta and salami. The tour will continue to Monteriggioni, where you will have the chance to visit the splendid medieval fortress on your own. Back in town you will find some quaint little shops and gelaterie where you can buy some typical local products or enjoy a gelato. The tour will end with a visit to a local winery where you will have a tasting of olive oil and wine.
