Meet your local guide in front of "Tokyo City i" and start your
walking tour with a jaunt through famous Ueno Park, one of Tokyo’s most
popular places to view Japan’s cherry blossoms each spring. As you
meander through the spacious park with your guide, revel in the
energetic, festive atmosphere during this time of year – referred to as
sakura (cherry blossom) season. 1,100 trees have decorated Ueno Park for
almost 150 years! Admire the rows of beautiful cherry blossom trees in
full bloom as you walk, standing beneath the blossoms and marveling at
their lovely petals.
After Ueno Park you will depart for Asakusa by train. When you arrive, your guide will accompany you to Azumabashi Bridge Pier to board your riverboat on the Sumida River.

During
your 45-minute cruise, enjoy romantic views of the Japanese cherry
blossoms, whose beautiful trees line the banks of the Sumida River. As
your yakatabune (pleasure boat) floats down the river, admire the
endless row of trees in full bloom, their delicate white and pink
blossoms creating a breathtaking canopy.
While
on board, enjoy the rare opportunity to see a traditional dance
performance by an apprentice geisha – known colloquially as furisode-san in Tokyo. She will personally pour one complimentary cup of nihonshu (Japanese sake) for each guest.
Your
cruise includes a Japanese-style snack in a bento box from Imahan, a
famous restaurant in Asakusa that has been serving delicious Japanese
cuisine since 1895. Inside you’ll find small servings of grilled salmon,
cream korokke (derived from the French croquette), fried chicken, braised kampachi (fish), fried potatoes, stewed Japanese beef with ginger and green onion, rice with octopus, nori (seaweed) and marinated sunagimo (chicken gizzard) with parsley.
As
you take in the sights of the cherry blossoms in the evening light,
enjoy a complimentary drink with your snack, including beer, lemon
shōchū, Japanese tea, soda and Calpis sports drink (alcoholic drinks
served to passengers age 20 and over).
After your fill of awe-inspiring views, conclude your tour at Asakusa Station.
