This trip also includes interesting features such as a long tunnel built with an “S” curve far underneath Cheat Mountain, numerous long mountain vistas, and many opportunities to view wildlife including bald eagle and black bear sightings. Stopovers include the inspirational “High Falls of the Cheat” and the former sight of the town of Spruce, WV, once the highest and coldest incorporated town east of the Mississippi, accessible only by rail. This vintage diesel excursion train will start boarding at 9:00 AM, with your choice of seating, all located by the windows which line each side of the train cars.
After departure, you'll enjoy the views of mountains and wildlife from one of our enclosed passenger cars, with a pass through a S curve tunnel, and stops at the High Falls of Cheat and the old town of Spruce. Get off the train and stretch your legs at the scenic stops and be sure to have a camera on hand for some great photo opportunities! A sandwich lunch buffet is provided for everyone on board the train.
