On this 3 hour walking tour you will meet the talented chefs behind some of Charleston's greatest restaurants and gain insight into their ideas, methods and creativity. The Chefs' Kitchen Tour will visit five restaurants and introduce you to Charleston chefs who will discuss the inspirations for their restaurants and provide a tour of their kitchens. In addition to visiting kitchens, the tour will include various samples along the way, including coffee and pastries, delicious biscuits from a celebrated Charleston biscuit maker and a selection of traditional southern dishes.

The Chefs' Kitchen Tour will visit five restaurants and introduce you to Charleston chefs who will discuss the inspirations for their restaurants and provide a tour of their kitchens. In addition to visiting kitchens, the tour will include various samples along the way, including coffee and pastries, delicious biscuits from a celebrated Charleston biscuit maker and a selection of traditional southern dishes.

From that point we will typically head to Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts where the group will enjoy coffee and doughnuts and meet the proprietors of the charming little shop. Then the group will proceed to meet the chefs at 2 restaurants in the Upper King Street area and will have an opportunity to ask questions of them and learn more about their respective restaurants. The group will then proceed to Callie's Hot Little Biscuit for a sample and an opportunity to learn more about the story behind Callie's Biscuits and how a 8 food wide alley was transformed into a bustling kitchen! Finally, the tour will conclude at Virginia's on King where the group will enjoy a few of the South's classic southern dishes and guide Hoon Calhoun will tell tales relating to Charleston's culinary history!
Your guide will tell stories about Charleston's history, culture and cuisine and will point out landmarks along your tour route. As these are walking tours, please wear comfortable shoes.
Since most of the time on the tour is spent inside restaurants, the tours are held rain or shine. Plan on most restaurant stops lasting 20-30 minutes, during which time you'll be seated and have an opportunity to use the restroom.
