The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge and the Rio Frío are biological wetlands considered to be some of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. You can join this 9-hour tour as Private or Share. Share option can have a maximum of 15 people per tour. You will be picked up from your hotel in a comfortable bus for the 1.5 hour journey to The San Emilio Bridge by The Rio Frío. Here your canoe awaits for our river expedition and we will begin our floating safari through tropical rain forest and fields. Along the way, you can see hundreds of birds and animals native to the area such as the spoonbill, cormorant, jabiru, caiman, and basilisk or Jesus Christ lizard. You should also see several types of monkeys and three-toed sloths.

When you arrive at Los Chiles shore, you will be picked up to go for lunch. You will be served a typical Costa Rican lunch, regional fruit, natural juices and coffee. Natural juices, bottled water, fruits and cookies are also included during the canoe expedition. After lunch, you will be brought back to your hotel. An experienced English - Spanish speaking guide leads the tour.
