This shore excursion will take you to some of the most popular places on the French Riviera. First head to Nice where you will drive down the Promenade des Anglais. This wide promenade, facing south and flanking the sea along its entire length, provides wonderful views of the Baie des Anges and a popular place for a lengthy stroll. Your guide will show you the famous architectural buildings located on the Promenade des Anglais: Hotel Negresco, the Massena Museum, Mediterranean Palace and you will stop in front of the Old Town near the Apolonia monument on the Square Massena. Your guide will then take you to the Old Town of Nice.
Take a stroll through the old town with your guide. A visit begins on the Cours Saleya where there are many small and cozy shops and restaurants, this elegant Baroque square is home to the famous flower and vegetable market. You will visit the Cathedrale Ste-Reparate built in 1650 by local architect JA. Gilberto in honor of Nice's patron saint. The cathedral is topped by an 18c dell tower and tiles that stands out on the Nice skyline. There will also be some free time during which you can take pictures or buy souvenirs.
Next stop the largest Russian cathedral building outside of Russia. It has six gilded onion domes and an ocher brick facade, the cathedral's domes are coated with gold leaf. You will have free time to visit inside of cathedral and its beautiful garden where аt the end on the left is a Byzantine chapel dedicated to Tsarevich Nicholas, the son of Tsar Alexander II, who died here in 1866.
Next, head to the city of artists St-Paul-de-Vence. This old village visible from afar among the pleasant hills and valleys of the Vence landscape. St-Paul-de-Vence has retained its medieval appearance, so characteristic of the fortified settlements which protected the Var frontier until 1870. Take a stroll through the old town with your guide. You will have free time to visit the famous Modern art galleries. This city will remind you of medieval times and your guide will tell you some amazing stories about it.
