Pickup from your Cairns or Northern Beaches accommodation and morning tea is included. You will be picked up from your Cairns or Northern Beaches accommodation around 5.30am. The launch point is Buchans Beach, approximately 30 minutes north of Cairns. After a safety briefing and equipment allocation, the 1.2km paddle out to the island begins. This takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

Once you hit the sand, you can admire the amazing views back to the mainland then paddle over the Great Barrier Reef that stretches hundreds of metres south of Double Island. There will always be two guides on this trip, so you can choose to stay on the southern side and snorkel, standup paddleboard and swim. Alternatively, you can head out to Scout Hat Island, or around to the sea caves on a low tide. The views from every aspect of these beautiful islands are second to none. Feel like a true castaway and escape your phone, the noise pollution and stress just for one magical morning. Save some energy for the big paddle back to the mainland where morning tea will be provided. You will be returned to your accommodation by around 11am. A good level of fitness is required for this trip.
