Admire the 19th-century building and hear how it’s an essential daily stop for local food shoppers. As you explore, learn about Hungary’s gastronomy from your guide, and discover the produce and influences that have shaped its cuisine.
Peruse the stalls selling charcuterie, spices and smoked cheese, and stop at some of the best to sample the goodies for yourself. Taste everything from lángos and turo ridi — chocolate-coated cottage cheese — to cured meat, and perhaps down a glass of Unicum, the local, bitter-tasting herbal liquor.
