Budapest City Walking Tour (3 hours)
Beginning at the Hungarian State Opera House, you’ll hop on the metro for a quick ride out to City Park, beloved by locals and visitors alike, and Heroes’ Square. There you’ll see the impressive statues of Hungary’s most important national leaders.
After taking a walk through the park, you’ll come to the Vajdahunyad Castle, constructed in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition, which celebrated 1,000 years since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin. Your next stop will be the popular Szechenyi Spa, Europe’s largest thermal bath, before taking the metro back into the city center. From there, you’ll encounter the neo-classical structure of St. Stephen’s Basilica, one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest.
Afterward, take a load off your feet in a Hungarian cafe where you can relax with a hot drink and two delicious pastries included in the price of your ticket. After your snack, you’ll continue along the cobblestone streets towards Ferenciek Square and Vaci Street, a strip well-known for its shops and trinkets.
You’ll then walk along the Danube Promenade, taking in the panorama of Gellert Hill and the Citadel, while snapping a photo of the Chain Bridge. You’ll conclude your tour in the Buda Castle District, where you can take the last of your photos from the stunning lookout at Fisherman's Bastion.
Budapest Wine-Tasting Tour (2 hours)
Led by your local guide, your tour will take place in a traditional wine bar in the heart of Budapest. Here you will be introduced to mainstream Hungarian wines, as well as the wine-making and crafting processes used in Hungary today.
During your wine tasting, six of the most typical Hungarian wines and their stories will be featured, accompanied by delicious snacks to enhance the taste of each varietal. Enjoy a mix of five white and red wines, plus one wine from the Tokaj selection, and learn about the historical and modern-day importance of wine-making in Hungary.
