On this literary tour of Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill see the sites, sip at the pubs, and hear the stories and writings of the authors that helped shaped the most famous Borough in the world.Meeting at a centrally located ale house where local actors will take you on a tour of several unique Brooklyn bars that were favorites of several generations of well known writers. At each pub, while you relax over a drink, you'll receive a history of the pub, of the neighborhood, some of the writers connected with that stop, and then perform some of their works. As you visit each neighborhood, go back in time and see how the area started as five small Dutch villages and turned into the Brooklyn of today. Your guides will point out some of the unique architecture in the area, especially those connected to the literary history, as well as sites integral to the underground railroad, and the influence of Robert Moses' urban planning. You will visit some of the only areas in Brooklyn historically protected, but the neighborhood is changing fast. Now is the time to grab a piece of Brooklyn history before it goes away. Through the writings, the architecture and the stories, you'll understand why Brooklyn truly is the most famous Borough in the world.
