Following a morning pickup from your Puerto Plata hotel, meet your guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned coach for the journey along the coast to the town of Gaspar Hernández. As you travel along the scenic road, enjoy beautiful views over the tropical landscape.
On arrival, follow your guide through town and gain insight into the locals’ customs and way of life. Stroll through the streets and markets, and soak up the atmosphere as buyers and vendors trade and barter the way they have for centuries.
Continue on to a plantation near the San Juan River, where locally grown produce such as cacao, coffee, mangos, bananas and coconuts are planted, grown and harvested for export.
