Get to Paradise Island in one of three ways: take a calorie-burning trek up and over the bridge, ride a taxi, or board a ferry from Woodes Rogers Wharf in downtown Nassau.
At Paradise Island Ferry Terminal, your boat awaits to take you on a pleasant ride to Blue Lagoon Island. En route, cruise through Nassau’s historic harbor and observe yachts and opulent homes in this ritzy enclave.
Upon arrival at Blue Lagoon Island, officially known as Salt Cay, head to a lagoon with submerged platforms. Your 30-minute program begins with a brief and engaging orientation on the background of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, animal training techniques and ocean conservation measures.
Time to nuzzle noses with dolphins! Stand on a platform, about 3 feet (1 meter) high, and watch your new mammal friends shower you with displays of affection and physical grace, springing out of the water to give you kisses and hugs. Return the love with rubdowns, and dance a little jig holding onto their fins. Of course, these agile creatures can’t resist performing acrobatics as well and will backflip high in the air.
Photographers and videographers are on-site to capture your precious moments with the dolphins. Pictures and CDs will be available for purchase by the time you leave the island.
Spend your remaining time checking out the island’s beaches and amenities. Stretch out on the soft white sand, enjoy a tropical drink from the lagoon bar (own expense) or play ping-pong in the game area until it’s time to board the boat back to Paradise Island Ferry Terminal.
