See the Blue Hole of Belize from a bird's-eye view on a private helicopter flight! This 4-passenger aerial tour takes you above the Turneffe Atoll and the UNSECO World Heritage-listed Blue Hole, allowing you to experience these amazing natural attractions as few people have. Prepare to take in breathtaking sights as you soar over the largest ocean sinkhole in the world. With complimentary hotel pickup and drop-off by minivan, enjoy a land tour of Belize City highlights on your return from the heliport.
When you arrive at the heliport after hotel pickup, receive a short safety briefing before boarding the 4-passenger helicopter. After leaving the base, your pilot will head southeast, flying you over Belize City and offering narration about the amazing sights below.

The largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere will quickly come into view as you soar over Drowned Cayes and Gallows Point. As your helicopter hovers above the coral reef, listen to the music of the waves while you watch them rush to get across the barrier. Keep an eye out for spectacular marine life; you may be one of the lucky few to spot sharks, dolphins, stingrays, manatees or crocodiles along the way!

Not much further you’ll see the gorgeous Turneffe Atoll, about 30 miles (48 km) long by 10 miles (16 km) wide. First, fly over Snake Point on the north end of the island and the small cayes of the Central Lagoon before reaching the Northern Bogue and the east end of the Turneffe Islands. There are about 200 cayes that are covered by mangroves at the atoll, home to a variety of marine life such as eagle rays, dolphins, turtles, huge green morays, giant Jew fish, nurse sharks, reef sharks, grouper, snapper and hose-eye jacks.

Venture into the open ocean toward the Lighthouse Reef Atoll en route to the Blue Hole — the largest ocean sinkhole in the world, measuring 1,000 feet (300 meters) in diameter and 460 feet (140 meters) in depth. Created by a collapsed underground cavern, the UNESCO World Heritage Site (also a Belize National Monument) appears as a dark blue circle amid the turquoise sea. As your helicopter crosses over this spectacular sight, with only two small channels breaking into it, you will be dazzled by its impressive size and color.

Your flight continues over Half Moon Caye Natural Monument, one of Belize’s largest protected areas, which encompasses 10,000 acres (4,045 hectares) of atoll. Moving toward Long Caye, you will again traverse the Turneffe Atoll where you can see one of the few islands with a white sandy beach.

On your return flight, relax and enjoy more astonishing aerial views of the coastline and Belize City. Back at the base, you will have the opportunity to take pictures of the helicopter with your pilot. Then hop in your minivan and take a driving tour, highlighting the downtown area of Belize City and all its historical sites on your way back to your hotel.
