After checking in at the Avian Conservation Center for your 1-hour
guided tour, you'll learn about how the Center for Birds of Prey's is a
distinctive conservation and educational resource for South Carolina and
the surrounding region. Here, they provide avian medical care, research
and conservation initiatives as well as STEM education for more than
20,000 individuals and students each year. As one of the premier avian
medical facility in the United States, the Avian Conservation Center’s
Medical Clinic at the Center for Birds of Prey has treated nearly 7,000
birds of prey and shore birds since opening in 1991 and operates the
only permanent oiled bird response facility of its kind on the eastern
seaboard.
